About the Foundation of Katyn Families of Jewish Origin

The Foundation of Katyn Families of Jewish Origin is non-profit organisation active in Poland and abroad. The Foundation has legal personality and operates under the provisions set forth in the Law on Associations. The objectives and tasks of the Foundation are defined in the statute registered in December 2021 in Warsaw, Poland.

The objectives of the Foundation are:

  1. educational and cultural activities in the field of support, assistance and promotion of the memory of Polish soldiers of Jewish origin murdered during the Second World War in Katyn and imprisoned and murdered on the territory of the Soviet Union;
  2. to promote and raise the level of education in the field indicated in § 1.
  3. to provide assistance and improve the material conditions of the descendants of Polish soldiers of Jewish origin referred to in § 1.

The Foundation pursues its objectives by:

  1. collecting money and property to meet the current and future needs of the descendants of Polish soldiers of Jewish origin;
  2. organizing and financing meetings, lectures, seminars to support, assist and promote the memory of Polish soldiers of Jewish origin murdered during World War II in Katyn and imprisoned and murdered on the territory of the Soviet Union;
  3. financing meetings with representatives of science and culture related to the objectives of the Foundation;
  4. promoting and propagating knowledge and memory of Polish soldiers of Jewish origin murdered during World War II in Katyn and imprisoned and murdered on the territory of the Soviet Union;
  5. organizing and participating in events that promote knowledge and activities related to the objectives of the Foundation;
  6. organizing and financing foreign trips of artists, teachers, students and persons related to the activities and organizing and financing the stay in Poland of artists, teachers, students and persons related to the activities of the Foundation from other countries in order to enable them to meet and establish contacts with entities conducting activities related to the objectives of the Foundation;
  7. bringing together teachers, students, activists and artists around the idea of the Foundation and developing contacts with domestic and foreign institutions and communities related to the objectives of the Foundation; and,
  8. funding prizes and scholarships for entities and individuals conducting activities related to the objectives of the Foundation.
